Begur Indian Fair Cuban Festival Fira d’Indians 4th to 6th September 2020
This has become a rather famous festival, and 2020 is the 17th edition, held from the 4th to 6th September. There’s heaps of things happening to mark the profound effect because of the town’s connection with Cuba.
The main theme that can be seen throughout these events is the emigration of many of the town’s people and their return to Begur in later years. This was when ostentatious colonial style houses were built.

You’re going to find yourself moving and dancing around to Caribbean style rhythms, and there’s plenty of products from overseas, as well as craft demonstrations. The streets are home to wonderful historical reconstructions. Of course there’s also the Habaneras Singing …the sea shanty singing brought back by those Catalans many years ago from Cuba.
